Here are three easy DIY projects you can make using decorative washi tape. There are hundreds of colors, patterns and styles available at some craft stores and online. www.cutetape.com is a good place to start.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Washi tape
  • Scissors and a craft knife
  • Plain white gift boxes
  • Plain vases or candle holders
  • Toothpicks

GIFT BOXES: Cut pieces of washi tape and wrap them around the boxes in a pattern of your choosing. Cut the tape with a craft knife where the box needs to open. Perfect for favors!

2 VASES OR CANDLE HOLDERS: Personalize any unadorned vase or candle holder. Cut the ends with a craft knife for a seamless look.

FLAGS: Wrap a length of tape around the top of a toothpick so that the sides stick together. Using a craft knife, cut a “V” in the end. You can make varying lengths or measure them all to one size.
