Take Two
When Jennie Linder and Derek Cunningham were planning their wedding (see their "Real Wedding" feature), they decided they wanted to do what more and more couples are doing — have informal photographs taken sometime after their wedding day.
“People want to get the creative imagery that there’s not enough time for on the day of the wedding. Most couples book for after their honeymoons,” says Stephanie Wales of Stephanie Wales Photography of Amherst. “Jennie and Derek did it the day after their wedding.”
Wales doesn’t do the trendy “walk through the mud” photography, where brides get their gowns dirty, on purpose. She prefers a more aesthetic approach, something she calls Bridescapes, where the couple is submerged in the environment.
“I use a rural, natural setting that would look amazing even without people in it,” Wales says. If a bride is worried about damaging or soiling her gown, Wales has a stockpile of gowns to choose from.
