A little over eight years ago, as I was coaching my sister’s cheerleading team, Jay walked onto the field with a mutual friend. Although we had heard the other’s name in conversation, we had never met. Over the next couple of weeks we saw more of each other with friends, including a trip to the Seafood Festival and Topsfield Fair. We wish we could say it was love at first sight, but it wasn’t. In fact, neither of us had any intention of dating, it just sort of happened; our friendship and relationship grew stronger as life went on around us.
