We met in 2002 when we were working as news reporters for the NBC station affiliated in Portland and Bangor, Maine. Over five years a friendship developed into a relationship, eventually bringing us back to Ben's native New Hampshire. In February of 2009 we attended a Sara Bareilles concert in Boston. Ben told me he had backstage passes to meet her. Ben asked Sara if she was working on anything new and she went to the piano and began playing "Here Comes the Bride." Ben got down on one knee and popped the question.
