On one of the hottest days of summer in 2009, Geoff agreed to brave the heat and drive us to Boston for lunch with my best friend from second grade whom I hadn't seen in 15 years. After lunch in Faneuil Hall we said good-bye to my friend and took a walk to the Public Garden. We found shade in the grass near the Swan Boats to cool off. I could tell Geoff was nervous about something as he fumbled in his pocket and fished out a blue box. As he held up the ring and asked me to marry him, I was so giddy I said "Yes!" before he could finish. We had a celebratory drink at Hennessy's, sitting in the same booth as we did on our first date nearly six years before.
