Chilling Experience

"This luge can stand up to the elegance of a wedding," says Donald Chapelle, owner of Brilliant Ice Sculpture and creator of ice luges that take the concept to a more sophisticated level. For martinis, champagne, whatever the drink, his sculpture will be the talk of any reception. "It has the wow factor people like at a wedding," he says. "It's very artistic and it's all suspended in ice."

Chapelle will use any material a couple wants; fruit, fresh herbs and flowers are the most popular. The luges take eight days to make - layering in the ingredients is the challenge.

He does it all in a freezer for a "beautifully crisp look."
