Cara O'Connor & Kate Donovan
Cara O'Connor and Kate Donovan were married at Camp Ogontz in Lyman on October 1, 2016. Photography by Rodeo & Co. Photography.
The wedding day in a word: Splendid. (Or, in four words, splendid, superb, a dream!) Wedding theme: Relaxed rustic Favorite moment for Cara: It's hard to choose, but overall, the food was amazing. And walking — I mean, dancing — into the dance hall and being introduced as a married couple for the first time was so fun. Favorite moment for Kate: How to pick one? Cara's vows, our first dance, the fireworks, walking back to our cabin at the end of the night. Biggest surprise: The eagle that flew over our ceremony. Our photographer told us that this symbolizes a loved one who has passed away. Kate's father passed away in 2009, and the eagle flew overhead when Kate's nieces (her father's granddaughters) read "Desiderata," a poem that reminds us all of Kate's dad. Piece of advice: Give yourself plenty of time. Plenty of time to plan, plenty of time throughout the day to get ready, plenty of time to see all of your guests. It will go by faster and faster the closer the day comes, and on the wedding day, everything moves very fast. Take it all in! Honeymoon location: The Wyndham Sugar Bay in St. Thomas, USVI
