Wedding Gown Inspiration at the Balsams

Tucked into a deep valley amid the mountains of New Hampshire’s northernmost county is a place that, for centuries, has been a bright spot in that remote area. It’s The Balsams, a resort hotel named for the fragrant firs that surround it. It was the scene of many weddings until 2011, when it closed. Now it’s coming to life again, with new owners who plan to make it better than ever.

Uncommon Cakes

It’s based in the small North Country town of Jackson, but Autumn Nomad’s reputation for cake artistry has spread worldwide — and that’s after just three years in business. The company’s owner and cake artist — Jaime Melfi — is the reason why. Her cake designs range from elegant to funky to whimsical, but, always, they push the envelope.

14 Things We Love

Painted roses, farm-to-table reception food, lacy invitations, cake swings — these are just some of the things we love.
