Meet Angela Desrochers of Angela Marie Weddings. Angela has been in business since 2014 and has a particular flair for outdoor weddings. Read on to learn all about this Deerfield-based planner extraordinaire.
New Hampshire Magazine's BRIDE: Where are you located and what is your service area?
ANGELA DESROCHERS: We are located in Deerfield, NH, and serve primarily New Hampshire but also southern Maine and northern Massachusetts.
NHMB: How would you describe your wedding planning style?
AD: Adaptable. Each client has their own personal style. I try to help them bring their vision to reality.
NHMB: What sort of services do you offer or specialize in?
AD: We offer consulting, wedding day management (aka day-of coordination), and full and partial planning services. We specialize in outdoor weddings, creating the scene from the ground up.
NHMB: What sets you apart from other wedding planners in the New Hampshire area?
AD: I put myself in the shoes of the client. The success of their wedding is as important to me as it is to them. I also only take on a small number of clients at a time, which allows me to give each client the attention they require and deserve.
NHMB: Who is your ideal client?
AD: I love working with easygoing young couples who are excited and engaged in the planning process.
NHMB: How and when did you get into this business?
AD: I first dreamed of becoming a wedding planner while planning my own wedding in 2009. It may be the analytical side of me, but I just loved all the details. In 2014, I received my Professional Bridal Consultant Certification from Ashworth College, and Angela Marie Weddings was born.
NHMB: From mountain lodges to Seacoast beaches, what's your favorite kind of New Hampshire wedding backdrop or locale?
AD: I love all outdoor weddings. Seacoast and barn weddings have been among my favorites.
NHMB: Of the many different aspects that go into planning a wedding, what is your favorite part?
AD: Whether the client has done the majority of the planning or has hired me to do it for them, I love to see all the hard work come together. It can sometimes be hard for clients to see how things will come together, and the look on their faces on the wedding day when they see the big picture is priceless.
I'm also a stickler for time management and schedules. My wedding day schedule is extremely detailed and precise.
NHMB: What's the most memorable wedding wedding you've ever planned?
AD: I had the opportunity to coordinate the wedding of a childhood friend. It was a beautiful and magical winter wedding at the Wolfeboro Inn. I love witnessing the union of two people in love, and it is extra special when you know the couple personally.
NHMB: What is the most challenging part of catering to specific requests? Do brides and grooms ever give you free range to create?
AD: The most challenging part of catering to specific requests can be when parents or other family members have a different vision than the couple but are paying for the wedding. I do my best to facilitate conversation to find a solution, but I have found that reassuring the couple that they are my client allows them to be open with me about their wants and needs.
NHMB: If a potential client is interested in working with you, how should they get in touch?
AD: Potential clients can email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or via the contact form on my website.
